Maya rigid bodies solver problem
on Dec 11, 2009 at 1:02:39 pm

is there anybody who can tell me the procedure to simulate 3 to 5 rigid bodies under one field/force(gravity)at different frames?
i want my rigid bodies to fall one by one, like first rigid body should fall at first frame then second one at 15 frame and third one at 30 frame and the solver field should be same for all. is it possible to do so?

You can keyframe the Active attribute on the rigidBody# node in the Attribute Editor or Channel Box.

There's no need for a script. If the rigid body falls too fast, increase damping, or keyframe it from a high value at the start to a low value later in the animation. This helps to deal with Maya's default behavior which looks like everything falls in a vacuum.
