Using Sample Deformers
on Nov 13, 2009 at 8:30:57 am

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has had much experience with sample deformers. Basically I am thinking about animating a character that will morph from one shape to another e.g. a female character is running and as she runs she morphs into a man. Anyway I am thinking about setting it up the same way they created Mystique from X-men. I will set up a sample deformer that deforms over certain regions, then use a morph target to change the shape from the female to male. The part that I am worried about it the rigging, if I bind the female character to the skeleton and she morphs I am assuming that I am going to run into some issues since the new geometry may not be weighted the same as the female character. I thought that I would ask for any tips before I start that way I won't be wasting my time doing the wrong thing. Thanks

Matty..
