Wrapping or deforming
on Oct 8, 2009 at 5:57:22 pm

I am trying to make an animation of a printing press.
I got a flat polygon made of 3 pcs. and a cylinder made of several polygons. Now I would like to wrap the flat piece around the cylinder and then have it rotate with the cylinder.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks so much

Parent a bend deformer to the cylinder and translate the paper toward the deformer. It will be flat at first and then follow the deformer.

Michiel,
Thanks so much, unfortunately I cannot get this to work.
I create the bend deformer with the paper and parent the db only
with the cylinder, when I set the curvature it already affects the
paper even if the paper is not close. What am I missing.
Thanks in advance.

Set the low and high bound. I would set the Curvature to 2. Scale deformer to twice the radius of the cylinder, set the Low bound to 0 and High bound to pi (3.1415).
