light color animation

light color animation

How do I animate the light's color of... for example a spotlight. In other words changing from green to red in an animation. Im new to 3D animation so im learning this on my own. Thanx for the help.

You can keyframe any of that stuff in Maya. A simple way to do it is to select your light, open the attribute editor to view the lights controls, and where you see the light's color control right click on the actual word "color" and select Set Key. That will keyframe the light's current color to the current frame. Go to another frame and change the light's color, and keyframe it again; now you have animated light color.

It works the same for pretty much all of the attributes.

thanx man. lol how the simple things always gets me and the harder ones are easier.
