Many people have asked about the 2-button mouse problem and have been told to get a 3 button mouse. Now, that makes sense but i also find it uncomfortable and sometimes unrealistic to have to find a flat surface while you're on the train to and from work (if you commute from nj to nyc, you know what i mean!). I really like using my finger on the laptop's surface and i also need to stay away from playing with extra gadgets that i could either lose or be slowed down by and ultimately even miss my stop. Either way, blender has no problem with a two button laptop mouse - it uses the left mouse button (LMB) similarly to how maya uses the ALT key.

now, if i were on a desktop, i'd prefer the 3 button mouse with maya's controls; it's just faster. But on the train, i need a better solution. so ultimately it boils down to..
