Adding uv-map to shader?

Hi all,

Could someone please tell me how to connect a uv-map into an existing shader?

I have created a car model, and assigned a blinn to the body. I have a uv-map where I have added such things as lights etc..

I would like to import this uv-map and add it to my body shader, how do I go about doing that?

UV texture mapping is not one of my best areas but I don't believe the UV map is associated with the shader at all. It's assigned to the geometry. The textures are assigned to the shaders but the UV mapping assigned to the geometry defines how they will mapped to the surface.
