refraction issues with mia_x_passes material

Hey guys i am struggling with refractions in the mia_x_passes material.

I am rendering a glass bottle half full of water. In the top half where there is just air between the bottle walls the refractions are okay however the area with the water does not recreate the correct results.

In real life refractions are flipped upside down or back to front in this situation, in maya they remain as if you were just looking through glass.

I have tried adjusting all the settings in the material attributes and also the raytracing options in the globals but no such result.

Any suugestions

make sure you have the correct index of refraction

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indices_of_refraction

from that list use the n value for water is 1.3330

also check the number of reflections and refractions in the render globals, you need to have enough for the rays to get in an out, count the number of "walls" they have to go through.

I have same problems at the moment.. maybe you culd check "hidden geometry visible in refractions" in the pass-options tab...
