Hi I've just managed to get a bump map working in MR using the "mia_material_x" shader, and then using a mib bump network plugged into the shader's Advanced / "mental ray bump" channel. The particular bump setup is the one using "mib_bump_map" (basic) in conjunction with "mib_bump_basis" and "mib_texture_vector". Then a "mentalrayTexture" node is plugged into the bump map's "tex" channel. This seems to work fine as long as the source texture is an image.
My question is, how can you plug some kind of procedural texture like a fractal or noise 3d or 2d, into the bump node.
Since tweaking a bump based on a baked image texture is obviously very labor intensive, I'm hoping there's a way to do this, or at least, to be able to filter the mentalrayTexture to soften it?
