I'm trying to create with maya and mentalray a very realistic lighting textt. It has to illuminate the floor and interacts with an actor.
The idea is that the material of the typography is opalescent, and it has a light source inside.
It should look more or less like this:
I tried to make the material with Mia_material and put a light inside the text but had no good achievments there.
Then I tried setting higher values of incandecence to the material, but didnt give the nice look I'm looking after.
Also tried with surface shader matieral, but didn't hit the target either.
Another Idea which might work is a simple self illumination attribute.
Something better than incandecence? Or any tip that may help?
