Problems rendering multi frame
on Jul 14, 2009 at 10:12:12 pm

I'm a bit of a noob in Maya. I'm having trouble rendering out an animaton I've done.

For some reason the multi frame extension types are greyed out in the render settings. I can render single frames fine, but that's it.

Am I missing something obvious in setup that enables this?

I'm rendering in mental ray, using Maya 8.5 on an intel mac.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks guys.

What are your render settings? If you haven't specified a format that supports multi frame like avi you won't be able to render out an animation using that format. If you have After Effects you can also compile all the frames of the animation into a single executable animation. Hope this helps

perhaps you expect mental ray to render directly to a movie format. It doesn't do that. You must render a sequence of images.
