When I render in MR it ignores my specular map which is a greyscale file texture(rgb colourspace). Ive tried jpegs,tiffs,targas and iffs - no difference. I dont get any 'unrecognized file' warnings - it just doesnt seem to read it correctly.
the scene rendered in software reads the specular map fine.
Im mapping the file into eccentricity on a blinn. Im sure I used to do this in mentalray all the time? Not sure if its changed since maya2009?
The bump map is read fine by MR, and is derived from the same photoshop file. Its just specular it wont read. It gives the texture a high specularity across the whole texture(what id expect with a pure white file texture) even if i make the file all black.
