PSD file with alpha does not assign well to my objects in Maya
on Mar 27, 2009 at 11:26:14 pm

Hello,
I have a PSD file with Alpha channel that I want to apply to my object in Maya. When I load the file, it does not see the alpha and the transparent part appears as white. If I load this image again through transparency attributes - the image does see the Alpha but the rest of it looks as though the colors were inverted.
Does anybody know how to prepare my images correctly in photoshop and then apply them in Maya?

thank you in advance,

Maya

Hello!

Well, I've never worked with psd files, a good solution to your problem is to work with other image format tha allows alpha channel, for example png, I always use png images and get good results for the transparency and you don't need to modify attributes in Maya. I think png has a good compression and it works great with alpha channel.

Good Luck!
