I am having a bit of a problem with an animation I am currently doing in Maya 2008 on my mac. I am animating a roller coaster using a motion path. With it being a roller coaster there are lots of inversions and loops etc.
This is where my problem lies, as the train negotiates the path it unexpectedly flips when going through a loop or inversion, e.g. its going around the outside of a loop the loop and when it gets to the top section it reverts inside the loop.
I understand I can go along and manually rotate the U value to get ok results but this is generally inaccurate and unspectacular, it also causes the train to wobble at certain parts where I'v tried rotating it. It just seems like a lot of hassle for a simple effect.
If anyone had any idea of having my train follow the track I would love you forever!
