I have an interesting question I'm hoping someone can help with. I was screwing around with Maya the other day, and noticed that I can use the color value of a shader to drive things line translate, rotation and scale. I then tried it with a an imported texture that is just a .tga image sequence going from black to white. I could animate somethings with the out color (ranging 0-1 with a multiply), but animating the translate, scale and rotation aren't working.
Maya seems to translate the BW value, numerically for some but why not others?? Any thought on how to get around this??
do the same thing
but remember that you are dealing with 0 to 1 values, your rotation might be working but is only moving 1 degree, you need to remap those values to cover 0-1, become 0 - 360, use set range for that.
