Maya Poly Texture buggy- or user error?

What is wrong with my workflow?

I am attempting a very simple book rotation animation. (I have textbook covers and spine graphics in a single jpg file).

Create poly cube- (scale as needed to match book dimensions)
Select cube
Apply lambert shader with textbook image file
Open UV editor
Select cube- UNITIZE command
Select face
Use the UV editor command- select UVs from selection
Size UVs so that correct area of image covers the poly face
(REPEAT FOR EACH FACE)

Renders work fine using this process- except when I go to batch render the entire rotation animation. The textures are completely wrong- crooked- scaled incorrectly- twisted.

The same thing happens upon saving and reopening the same Maya scene later. Why are my textures slipping/twisting in this manner? User error/problem with program/graphics card?

hi
before you animate anything, specially geometry that had been UVed delete history and freeze transforms, if you don't, is like the texture is been projected each frame again and again.

so, delete history on that geometry

Yes! Success. Thanks- I could have lived to be 300 years old and never figured that one out.
