Looking for MentalRay Lens shader for panoramic render
on Mar 6, 2009 at 11:00:54 pm

Hello people,
i'm using maya 2008 on OSX intel machine; i'd like to know if there is a shader either a way to obtain a panoramic render within mental ray.
Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

F.L.

...while waiting i went googling, and maybe before i was giving wrong keywords, finally i found this:
LINK

which gave me this result:

Nice, isn't it?

NOTE: if you use a polygon sphere, inside Mental Ray Baking Options X-resolution stands for width and Y-resolution stands for height - if you use a nurbs sphere it will be the opposite x=height and y=width.

Enjoy.

Google my love gave me this result - after that i had the solution to my problem, i'll share it here for whoever needs it. It had been tested on OsX 10.4 - Maya 8.5 & 2008 (only the panoramic shader at this time - i'll try to test the rest of the stuff too)
