using one object to clip another's visibility -

Howdy.

I would like to know: is there a way to use an [invisible] object's presence, to affect another's visibility? Sort of a 3D mask type of thing. A cube or sphere could "wipe" across some text, say, to have it be revealed.

ThankYou

Hi

Yes there is , use a useBackground shader to make your object not render and clip the objects

I think the question was "is there a way to use an object to clip another just like the "near clip plane" property of a camera does. But this is not the same, the "use background" makes the object hide everything that's inside AND behind. The near clip plane reveals what's behind it, so that we can see inside an object without being inside.
That would be useful to dynamically cut any object with any other object.
