Length between paintfx tree twigs

Hi all,

I've been put in charge of the Xmas e-card this year and thought I'd create something in 3D. I'm wanting to create a christmas tree using the pine PaintFX brush but it seems that the length between the twigs on the tree becomes smaller and smaller further up towards the top of the tree (as it gets thinner). This means that there is a lack of leaves on the bottom half and the top half is overcrowded with leaves.

Any suggestions?

Paul

Try checking the 'Branch after twigs' attribute in the Twigs section.

You could also fiddle with the Segment Length Bias, maybe.

Thanks, I'll try that tonight. Also, is there any way to make the tree trunk straight as opposed to drooping downwards??

Sure. The trunk is probably responding to a gravity force. Look for it under 'behaviour,' I think, and reduce it. There may be other forces or displacements such as 'wiggle,' 'curl,' or 'random.' Reduce anything that looks like it might be contributing.
