I am fairly new to maya and was hoping someone could help me shed some light on a doubt I have about mental ray. I have a basic setup, a model (character) a ground plane, both blinn materials an ambuient light with no intensity and image based lighting composed of an HDRI.
This being said, my render looks fine, quite happy with it so far. However, I dont want or care for the HDRI image to appear in mr renders. I just want the character and the reflections from the HDR on him with alpha all around. The only work around I can think of is seperately rendering the alpha mask w maya software. Time is of the essense and less renders would be better.
