Autodesk Maya 2008 UI Colors
on Jul 20, 2008 at 6:43:12 pm

Hey guys,
I would first like to say thanks for all your tutorials, you have helped me a lot:)
My question is how can I customize the UI Colors, from everything I have read Maya 2008 uses windows
for it's UI colors, Can anyone verify this? and is this the only way?

Thanks

Hi Jim

simple, yes, in windows that's the only way, you could use something like windowblinds but I DON'T recommend it, it has some troubles with the maya viewport, leaving weird lines.

you can modify the colors in linux with the MayaScheme file, but this is not possible in windows and I think neither in OSX

Thanks Alvaro,
I'm now using a uxtheme dll patcher for XP SP3, and some msstyles (Visual Styles) from deviantART
this way there is no extra load on memory or CPU, Seems to work great, I now have a great looking UI for Maya 2008 :)

BTW: Your Maya Logo Tut was just great, what are you doing next?

Thank you!
