Im trying to create fire in Maya 8.5 and its becoming very hard to even grasp how to do it. i've looked online for some tutorials but all of the outputs i have gotten are not very good, i dont know what im doing wrong. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

hi

Yeah, THAT'S a hard one, I've done some with fluids, looks very very nice, see the maya examples of fluid fire.

this kind of realistic elements, if you are going to composite them in a real scene, is better to film them or use some other footage you can buy, there are really good libraries for fire and explosions.

Like I say, is always BETTER to have the real thing for photoreal.

good luck
