moving and bending at an angle
on Apr 2, 2008 at 2:21:45 pm

I'm trying to animate a printing press - where the paper rolls under rollers, then bends sharply (almost a 90 degree angle) & shoots up in the air. I've tried animating along a path, but the entire paper moves along the path & does not bend. When I use a non-linear bend deformer, it curves upwards, & does not bend at the sharp angle I want it to. Does that make sense? I bet this is really simple, but I can't wrap my head around it. Suggestions, please? Thanks! Karen

if your paper doesn't have any thickness, look into a birial shape. (i actually have a tutorial on this here on the cow)

Thanks Chad. I actually saw this yesterday & tied it, but I couldn't get it to work. I'll try it again later. Karen

Karen,
did you ever get this to work.
I am working on a printing press myself and I am stuck
trying to wrap the plate around one of the cylinders.
Any help would be appreciated.
Frank
