MAYA on Intel Mac under Windows OS

Hi.

Just bought a new MacPro Octicore, which is great, but now I'm wondering if I have to buy MAYA again.

I own 6.5 and have been running it on a G5, but the disks did include a Windows install.

My question is whether I can run MAYA on the new box booting as a Windows machine, or if I should just keep the G5 for MAYA (until I re-buy MAYA for the new Intel).

Thanks very much.

Ken

That depends.... what sort of license do you have?

It is a "Node Locked" license type.

I have a Mac Pro on its way (2x2.8 processor, 4 gig ram). I am trying to figure out if Maya or Max is best taking in 3D dxf archutectual models for realistic render and animation. I have heard some problems running Mac based Maya. Mac reps and software reps are telling me all my PC based programs will run great with windows running on a Mac. I'm being told the programs will not know the difference. Almost to good to be true.

Let us know what you find out. Seems like alot of us would like to move over to Final Cut. It would be nice to feel as though the Mac will be more than just final cut rig.

Thanks
