Mirroring the other half!
on Jan 20, 2008 at 2:56:46 pm

Hi all.

Ive created the right half image of a gingerbread man, but how the hell do i mirror the other half for the left side?

Im new to maya so the answer will probably be simple, but i just cant do it and its frustrating me......

It should be a simple method of selecting the right side, then duplicating it to form the left, but i just cant grasp the technique. How do i mirror it to form one complete body?

Any help will be greatly respected.

Thanks guys,

Dave.

Make sure your pivot point is at the right place. normally in zero. if you need to move it, press the insert key and move it (you can snap to grid with the x button). Then go to -edit-duplicate options. now simply put a minus in the scale direction you want to mirror.

if your translate properties are messed up, you can also use the -edit-freeze transformation to reset every property to zero.
