How Do I Make My Layered Texture Network Reflective/Shiney?
on Dec 28, 2007 at 3:56:05 am

Hey folks!

I've built a model of a jet aircraft and now I'm working on texturing it. Unfortunately, I've run into an odd problem (or at least one I cannot figure out). I have created a blinn - nice and shiney/reflective - as the starting point for the texture. From there I placed a layered node into the color and added decals, panel lines, weathering as layers. The bottom most layer I placed a Photoshop file. Now, the model looks great - HOWEVER - no matter what I do I end up with a matte finish!

I've tried adjusting the reflectivity settings on the original blinn node, but nothing seems to work. What have I done wrong? I'm sure there's a simple solution but I'm not seeing it.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have raytracing turned on and/or reflections turned on in the shader? a peek at your shading network would help.
