Anyone know of a tutorial on how to create a Mobius Strip in Maya?

Thanks,

Create a single span curve at around -2 X. Center the Pivot point. Parent it to a locator at the origin. Animate a rotate the curve 180o on the Z. Animate rotation of the locator 360o on Y.

The first and last frames should look the same.

Select the now animated curve and Animate> Create Animated Sweep.

This will create a derivative surface from the motion of the curve. You're done! You created a Moebius Strip.

Now try this:
Pick the the top-most and bottom-most isoparms and Edit Curves> Duplicate Surface Curves.

Now you have adjustable construction curves to create different strips as needed using Birail. Surfaces> Birail 1 tool.

The first curve is the profile curve and the 2 duplicated surface curves are the rails. The Birail surface will also be a Moebius strip but now you have construction history as well.

Good luck.
