Shader resolution question

Shader resolution question

Hi all, every time I apply a shader I've made, or one I've downloaded, it totally loses all its resolution and gets blown up and pixelated. For example, I'm trying to create sand but the fractal pattern doesn't stay small and fine. It keeps enlarging when applied to my surface. What am I doing wrong?

Are you referring to the appearance in a hardware-textured viewport, or the results of the final render?

If the former, you just need to change the hardware texturing resolution, accessible from the material node. Change it to 'high' or 'highest'.

If the latter, the scale of textures is affected by the parameterization of the surface to which it is applied, and finally controlled by their placement nodes.

For a 2D texture, increase the repeat U and V values. For a 3D texture, increase the scale X, Y, and Z.
