Obviously by my post I am a novice. The problem is that I am following a Gnomon DVD and I cannot get a spot light to shine.

This is what I did: Created spotlight, adjusted penumbra and drop off. Created a plane and then went to panel -look though slected. No light shines on the plane. I've done this five times and the result is still the same. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Your help is greatly appreciated and will make my family happy since I won't be so annoying.

Increase the intensity of the light - by a lot. Like 1000.00.
You should see it then.
Or just press 7 on your keyboard.

Thanks francois,

I did what you suggested but nothing happened. Obviously I am doing something wrong but what?

Thanks, but do you have any other suggestions?

Wally

Make a new scene, make a new spot light, place it where you want it. Adjust the Penumbra angle as you want, switch to linear decay, push you're intensity up to about 66 (or higher) and make sure "Illuminates by default" is switched on - and you should be fine. If not, I don't know; that's very weird.

Thanks francois for your advice. I played with it using your advice and it worked.

Thanks and I'm sure that it won't be long before I get stumped again.
