2d texture as a projection map
on Oct 15, 2007 at 12:04:27 am

Hi all, I'm in the process of learning Maya and I'm having a small problem with a projection map. I was hoping someone here can help.

I've got a simple marker that I'm trying to put a logo on. The marker was created as a nurbs curve that was then revolved. For the log I've attached a 2d file as a projection. I now have the logo sized how I want it and placed where it's needed. The problem that I'm having is that the projection is coming through the other side. Does anyone here know how to stop this from happening?

Thanks,
Franz

Use a 'cylindrical' projection type, put the projection manipulator inside the object, and turn off 'Wrap U' and 'Wrap V' in the place2dTexture node (that's 2d, not 3d).
