I'm trying to do some smoke around an engine. A camera is moving around the engine passing thru the smoke/clouds
I've tried usind a fluid effect 3d container but it's just impossible to render. It takes like 6 hours for one pictures (and the render is not so good) Maybe it's because I've activated some motion blur, and also cause there's smoke everywhere even inside the engine (which is totally useless but I didn't know how to do otherwise )
Anyway, do you have any tips to make a good and easy to render smoke ?
Try particles instead. There are several tutorials on rendering clouds and smoke using particles on the web. While they may not be "physically" acurate like the fluids, they are a lot faster, both simulation and rendering, and allow a great deal of control (fields and MEL Scripts)
