"use background" shader / mental ray

"use background" shader / mental ray

hello!

i am rendering an object in mental ray and i need an alpha channel for shadows.

seems that maya
"use background" shader is not fully compatible with mental ray,(some bugs appear in alpha channel and not when i use maya renderer)

is there any mental ray shaders like maya "use background" shader????

what kind of artifacts are you seeing? I've used the usebg shader with MR tons and never had any problems?

i made an simple image to show you the problem i have.

rendered with mental ray (maya 7 or 8.5 os x)
in both version same alpha problem appear on the left of the alpha image.

(somebody told me to use maya renderer but it produces less quality area shadows)
so i would prefer to find pro solution using mental ray.
