How can i render an animation in maya 8.0

How can i render an animation in maya 8.0

My tutorial talks about a switch in Render Globals, but i cant find that one. What should i do?

You first use the common render settings. Switch the "frame/Animation ext:" popup menu to a multi frame naming formatt(exp: name.#.ext). Then below this put the start and end frames, select the camera, then go to the "rendering menubar > Render > Batch Render". Maya will then open up an exterior application that starts to automaticly render the frames you had selected in the "common render settings".
