Is there any standard industry workflow out there that includes rendering the same shot with different renderers? Say, shadows and spec with MR, occlusion and GI with Renderman, etc. Is the sampling done by each so different that it would cause the result to look funny? Or does Mitchell mean Mitchell, regardless of what's doing the Mitchelling?
I'm asking because the new Renderman for Maya 1.0 is rather fast compared to MR. But it won't render out my big 16-bit textures, for some odd reason (that one's a bigger mystery than my "new cam won't render" post.)
So I'm thinking of going back and forth between renderers.
