I've only just started learning FG and GI through Mental Ray. I'm having some difficulties. I have a simple box with a point light up in the corner. Render settings on PreviewGlobalIllum. Point light with quadratic decay rate and emit photons, just like the tut says.
It's all happening as it should, except for one detail I can't seem to fix. In the corners of the box, where one face meets another, the receding shadows break up quite a bit. Not smooth. (Do we call this artifacting?). In any case, no amount of slider manipulation in the render settings seems to be changing the situation.
I could really use some help. I need those sinking shadows smooth.
