HELP: NURB to curve
on Oct 28, 2006 at 8:39:49 pm

Posting on weekends... When will I learn.

I have a NURB power cable stretching from one phone poll to another. Looks good. I was hoping to convert that cable into a curve, but no such function exists (always looking for that silver bullet, at the risk of getting lectured by the pros out there.)

Before I start drawing a new curve by hand to match the original cable, I thought I'd ask if there's a simpler way.

Thank you very much.
Serge

Try selecting one of the isoparms on the NURBS object and duplicating surface curves.

Wow. That was almost TOO easy. Many thanks - S.

Can't you just select an isoparm from your cable surface and do a duplicate surface curve?

I'll give that a try, once I figure out precisely what it means. I neglected to mention that, while I have a good share of polygonal experience, I've never touched a NURBS until now. But you gave me something to go on.

Thanks - S.
