Is it possible to loop a particle stream?
on Sep 21, 2006 at 12:03:01 am

I want to create a looping background of bubbles. Seems like the best motion for this would be paricles if I could create a loop.

Help describes CYCLE EMISSION as being used to create simple loops by restarting the random number gen. I'm only using emitter variables but can't find a seam to loop on.

Is this possible to do?

Thanks in Advance.

I'm not particle savvy at all but what I think you should look for is using a specified seed value along with noise (not random) random doesn't replicate quantities, it simply randomly generates values, but noise does. Noise is really a long continuous waveform that based on a seed value supplied can be replicated so you can do a at birth noise value and a life span pp attribute driven by noise and should be able to create a loop. It's hard to tell what your final bubble loop animation is supposed to be. Because a lot of this could be done without expressions/mel through simpler methods.
