Any dynamics gurus out there who know if it's possible to trigger a particle collision event with MEL instead of with a real collision?
There are attributes in the particle node that say things like 'requesting this attribute will trigger a particle collision event.' And that makes me think it ought to be possible to execute an expression to do so, without the need for an actual collision.
I started thinking about this after responding to the post below about dividing cells. It seems to me that it would sometimes be useful to trigger particle collision events 'out of the blue' like this--but nothing that I've tried has worked.
(I know there are workarounds with invisible geometry and negative resilience and so forth, but I'm just curious about whether or not this is possible in principle.)
