Mya or MAX

Hi.

I have this problem: I have some experience with MAX but now I see
that getting nice fluids and hair takes time and is only with
third party plugins etc.
Now I got idea to go with maya.
I have played with 3D studio since version 1
What do you think ?

Maya seems to handle and support Linux and with that i can build nice
Opteron workstation around it and make linux rendernodes etc.

So there are some strong points to go with maya.
Only thing that worries me is learning curve.

What do you think fellaws?

Margus.

If you know max, you should be able to wrap your head around maya with a little effort. I too used Max (since version R4 for dos) and jumped on the maya train when ver 01 came out, never looked back. Maya just make a ton more sense to me and is many times more flexible. Now that they are in the same company, who knows what will happen to either of em. I'm sure at somepoint they will merge into a uber-app, but for now we'll probably just see more ease of exchange between the two programs.
