I just watched a tutorial and i discovered that amazing feature in maya called paintFX. U simply pick a surface, make it paintable, then, well, paint in 3D!!
Then i said to myself why go into the pain of texturing map when u can simply paint the thing on the surface? I am wrong to think that? What is the difference betwen both approaches? When to use texturing and when to use paintFX?
Sorry if this looks too rookie a question, that's exactly what iam :)
