Importing Maya 7.0 iff files into After Effects 7.0 causes an After Effects error message similar to, "Photoshop bad file format". The iff files are generated from a mental ray render.
Does anyone have information as to what causes this error and if it's going to be fixed anytime soon?
A workaround is to use FCheck to open the File Sequence and "re-save" as iff files. These files are then imported into AE 7.0 without error, but this is an extra step to our workflow that should not be necessary.
I've been told there is a patch for this on alias... uh... autodesk.com :)
I haven't tried it, i just switched to using SGI sequences and that seems to work fine and retain a lot of the benifits of IFF.
