is there any way to monitor rendering time in maya?

look at the render log file, it tells you how long each frame takes to render.

i have still frame to render it toook 20 or somthing hours. so i dont know to shout it down or wait some week more :(. as i remember (4 years ago) max had this progress bar? but i cant find it there.

If you're rendering from within Maya, it gives you a progress report... of course rendering from within Maya is not a good idea, especially with a 20 hour (!) render.

One thing you can do is use fcheck to open up your output file and just see how far along it is! Doing this doesn't disturb the render (equivalent to 'Show Batch Render' command in Maya).

Also... does the 'verbose' batch render flag output a progress report? Anyone know?

You should render it using the batch renderer at a command prompt, i.e. not starting the render from within the Maya GUI. Is that what you're doing already? Or are you rendering by selecting 'Batch Render' from the Render menu within Maya?
