Backfaceculling Question!
by
on May 22, 2006 at 12:49:33 pm

Hi guys,

I posted this up before but i don't think it properly uploaded my thread.

If i have 'Backface Cull' set to on in my >Custom Poly Display options box - how am i able to still select verts not in view of my cam (i.e. on the reverse side of my model)?

I would assume this to be a universal thing. However just in case, I'm running M6.5!

Any advice would be great!

Best regards,
Nick.

As far as I know, the default behaviour is for back vertices to still be selectable. When you switch to vertex selection mode, they will appear, although their faces (backfaces) still won't be visible.

If you DON'T want this to happen, there is a separate option in the Custom Polygon Display options window for vertex (not face) backculling. Enable that, and back vertices will not be visible or selectable.

A little embarrassing - it was right in front of my face! I appreciate the help - many thanks.

Nick.
