How do i get my animation file?
on Mar 13, 2006 at 8:36:54 am

Hi,

I am sorry this might look a silly question. I would appreciate if someone can tell me what iam doing wrong and what to do so that i can export a movie file out of maya. I am mostly used to 2D animations and their way to export the movies.

Here is what i did in maya: i first go to files, then project, new project. I name and specify a directory and create the necessary directories there. Back in maya i made my animation (simple sphere rotating betwen frame 1 and frame 24). Then i go file, export all, name the animation, specefied .mov (quicktime file), specified the clip subdirectory. But maya always says error: could not save!!

The result is i never see the movie file.

What to do?

Thank you

You need to RENDER your animation, not export it. Exporting is for transferring elements from one scene to another.

What you want is the Batch Render command in the rendering menu.
