Playblast only in wireframe?
on Feb 9, 2006 at 3:10:22 pm

Hello, all -

I'm relatively new to Maya and was trying to figure out how
to get a playblast of a timeline region with flat shading. I
can't seem to get anything but wireframe. Am I looking at a
feature request or just overlooking a simple checkbox? Any and
all help is most appreciated.

Thanks,

The playblast should use whatever shading settings are in the active window. Have you set the window to flat shaded mode before activating the playblast?

Playblast is simply a process of capturing screen grabs and stringing them together in an image sequence. If you have wireframe display on your playblasts will be wireframe models. Also if you have wireframe on shaded you would see a a solid object with wireframe outside. To turn off wireframe on shaded go under your view tab and toggle it off. then press the number 5 for shaded view, 6 for shaded/texture view and/or 7 for rough lighting view. playblast from the timeline and it should look how you want. Otherwise to get the best results do a quick hardware render.
