Extruding along a curve deformed using the sine nonlinear deformer
on Feb 8, 2006 at 6:33:38 am

I'm trying to extrude a triangle shape along a curve deformed into a sinewave using the deformer under the animation toolset. However, since maya doesn't read the curve being deformed as an sinewave and reads it as the original curve, the shape doesn't extrude in the shape of a sinewave. How do I bake the Deformer into the curve? Thanks a lot for the help

It sounds to me like you're having a problem with your deformation order. Make sure that when you apply the deformer you use the default Deformation Order setting (in the Advanced tab). Try deleting the extrude and doing it again after the deformer has been applied.

It really should work the way you want it to...
