Smoke (sprites) unable to use lights on it....

Hi, I made a smoke column, and it look ok so far. I added a spotlight because I only want to see part of the smoke and see it emerge from the dark.

But when I render the smoke, the spotlight has no effect on it (its all lit up like it was in an ambient light).

How do you make light hit a hardware rendered sprite?

in your particleShape node there should be an option beneath the render attributes (the bit where you choose it to be a sprite) - "use lighting"
that should cause the sprites to be affected by any lights but I wouldn't be expecting self shadowing and all those kind of subtleties - however you can do some nice backlight stuff with the particles using direction lights and wotnot

It worked, thanks.

But I tried this before asking here, and then it didn't work.
