How do you load an image sequence as a projection?
on Dec 20, 2005 at 4:19:27 pm

So I've managed to import a targa as a projection, but when I click on image sequence to create a moving projection, the projection goes black and the little message window says it can't find the file??!!

What's going on? How do I import an image sequence???

To be more accurate the error message I get is:

Warning: Texture file (location of file) doesn't exist, node file1

Well it does exist!

picturefile.001.tga, picturefile.002.tga etc. You have to have dot before numbers otherwise Maya don't understand it as a sequence. I haven't tested new Maya, but on v.5 at least.

Also, maya's using the current frame number as the image sequence number, so you have to be sure to set your ofset as well... i.e. if your image sequence starts at image.00550.tga and you don't set your ofset, Maya will say the image doesn't exist until you get to frame 550... because images 0-549 truly don't exist.
