Roulette Wheel Texturing Question
on Nov 7, 2005 at 11:37:57 pm

I have a roulette wheel that I am texturing and I'm wondering how best to approach it. The linked image shows a partially-built roulette wheel and I'm at the point where I need to start making my red, black and green squares for the roulette wheel numbers. I gave it a shot in illustrator using the polar grid tool but it didn't work out.

any of you have any thoughts or opinions on how to best make this texture? I guess I could build the geometry and texture each one but that seemed very expensive and non-efficient. I was hoping one of you could point me in a better direction. :-)

Here's the link to the pic in case it doesn't show up for you:

Just alternating red and black, with one or two green thrown in? I'd say that screams 'checker' texture, wrapped around the object. Repeat 0.5 times in one direction and 20 times in the other.

For the green, you could just set the texture to 0.95 (or whatever) coverage and make the default colour green. Not pretty, but quick and easy.
