Maya 7 Menus
on Oct 20, 2005 at 11:47:07 am

Hey there. I'm a begginer in Maya 7, to Maya at all.
I hide all the menus, even the top basic one. I have no menus at all.
All I see on my screen is the view panels. I'm lost! How do I bring the
menus back??
Thanks.

If you don't have the main menu either, you can't get to the top display menu. Try holding down the space bar and you should be able to access the display menu through the transparent marking menu that pops up. Go to UI Elements and choose Show All. Finally, you'll have to go to Windows->Preferences->Preferences and on the very first category on the left "Interface" make sure Show Main Menu is on.

and yet you can use a very valuable hotkey which toggles all this off and on...

hold down "cntrl + spacebar"

Hrmm, works in 6 too. Thanks Jason. :-)

We need a post listing our favorite built-in (or added) features of Maya.

I don't think that was in 4.5 but from 5.x up maybe 6.x up?

Theres actually a long thread at CGTalk with a large listing of favorite hotkeys etc. if your curious. Probably have to do a bit o searching for it. Think I found that one that way actually.

Cheers,
