Maya batch renders just one frame (Maya SW)
on Oct 14, 2005 at 9:38:12 am

Hi everybody,
I've got somen troubles here.. My Maya 7.0 (original Alias license, before anybody asks.. ;)) is misbehaving a little bit.
I've always been used to setup my animation for batch rendering in the same way, and so I did this last time. But, here's the point, our little anarchist Maya friend stops its rendering process after the first frame, saying "Result: Rendering Completed. See mayaRenderLog.txt for information."
Yeah, for sure..
Does anyone know which one can be the issue causing all of this?
Thanks in anticipation.

Dario.

You could try deleting the "userPrefs.mel" file, sometimes it helps fix weird errors. It's in ~/Library/Preferences/Alias/maya/7.0/prefs folder. If you're on PC do a search for the file name.

I got the same problem with newly installed Maya 7. I set up the render just as before in Maya 6.5 ... I deleted all the presets but that did not help.

The batch render just stopped after 1 frame.

I found a workaround though. I was possible to render all frames starting the batch render from the command prompt (in win xp).

1. Go to START meny and choose [Run...]

2. Type [cmd] and click OK.

3. Use command prompt and go to your Project/Scenes folder (where your maya scene file is).

4. Make sure you have saved your scene with all the rendersettings correct.

5. Start the batchrender typing in the command (do not include the brackets):
MayaBatch -render [filename]

6. You can also use the command:
MayaBatch -help
to get more info about how to use the MayaBatch from the command prompt.

Not the perfect solution but it's the only solution I could find. If you find out how to do this from within Maya, I would appreciate it ...
